The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademar Fantini got free with Alessandro Gaspar in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grêmio POA's Giuseppe Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alessandro Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Gaúcho in the 18th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in PiratesBowl's zone, Yanaki Nazarov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Gaspar came out of the goal and Yanaki Nazarov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Barreto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alessandro Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yanaki Nazarov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Grêmio POA players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
