Narciso Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CURUÇA F.C.'s Hortêncio Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Maranhense in the 24th minute of play. Dionísio Novaes struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Luiz Fábio Marquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CURUÇA F.C.. After having played for 30 minutes, Yuri Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candeias SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Brasil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Fábio Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Eliseu Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Hortêncio Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, CURUÇA F.C.'s Narciso Souto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Fábio Marquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kléber Matos thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Hortêncio Duarte, a very annoying self made goal in the 51st minute which led to 1-0. Yuri Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Duarte having to interfere. Luiz Fábio Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Eliseu Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candeias SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the game, Yuri Brasil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Hortêncio Duarte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 79 played minutes CURUÇA F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Róbson de Barros. Candeias SC's Eliseu Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narciso Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Marquez having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, CURUÇA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Fernandez came free, but Hortêncio Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yuri Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Candeias SC had played much better football throughout.
