In the 14th minute, Flavinho Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 17 minutes, Kaká Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itaboraí FC and the Pesqueirinho AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Pesqueirinho AD's Flavinho Quintal in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Itaboraí FC's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juarês Varela in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. Leopoldo Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leopoldo Quirino came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Pesqueirinho AD's Pedrão Paes. But to his dismay, Pedrão Paes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The supporters of Itaboraí FC booed when Pesqueirinho AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delfim da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavinho Quintal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leopoldo Quirino having to make a save. Flavinho Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Leopoldo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Flavinho Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Pesqueirinho AD were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Juarês Varela made the kick off in the second half. Pedrão Paes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Leopoldo Quirino when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Flavinho Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopoldo Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. When Romeu Valle fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pesqueirinho AD's protests and gave Romeu Valle a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pesqueirinho AD getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Romeu Valle hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Pesqueirinho AD's Flavinho Quintal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leopoldo Quirino. Leopoldo Quirino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. The audience was convinced that Flavinho Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leopoldo Quirino was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. With a little luck, Itaboraí FC's Leopoldo Quirino got control of the ball when Pedrão Paes tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 80th minute of the match Kaká Senna completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kaká Senna a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Pesqueirinho AD booed when Itaboraí FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaká Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88thth minute of the game Flavinho Quintal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaboraí FC's Leopoldo Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 95 played minutes Itaboraí FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Mendonça. Pedrão Paes took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leopoldo Quirino. Leopoldo Quirino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. When the final whistle sounded Pesqueirinho AD left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Itaboraí FC.
