The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Claudinho Quintal succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 3rd playminute. Eduardo Penha made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Claudinho Quintal sent off a good shot on target. 8 minutes into the game, Itororo's Enio Hoffmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adalberto Breckenfeld made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 12 minutes into the match, Itororo's goalkeeper Eduardo Penha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Guilherme Jacinto. Benedito Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Breckenfeld having to interfere. Enio Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Jaborandy SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme Jacinto hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benedito Paraibano in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adalberto Breckenfeld saved Jaborandy SC from getting behind. Itororo's Eduardo Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Itororo from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the match, Claudinho Quintal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eduardo Penha. Itororo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinho Quintal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Benedito Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Adalberto Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute Enio Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Itororo's Benedito Paraibano in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jaborandy SC's goalie prevented a goal. Itororo's Enio Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Augusto Pinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Doriva Tinoco charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doriva Tinoco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Itororo's Doriva Tinoco got a free kick in the 55th minute. Adalberto Breckenfeld didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 59th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. 70 minutes into the match, Jaborandy SC's goalkeeper Adalberto Breckenfeld had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enio Hoffmann. In the 71st minute Enio Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Jaborandy SC's Adalberto Breckenfeld got control of the ball when Benedito Paraibano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Itororo were furious when Amauri Terra was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Itororo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jaborandy SC:s goal. Itororo:s Eduardo Penha showed great skill when he stopped Christian Rodrigues:s penalty. Adalberto Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Tinoco in the 87th minute of the match. Téo de Medeiros's late challenge caught a Itororo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Téo de Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Jaborandy SC's Téo de Medeiros got a free kick in the 89th minute. Eduardo Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Quintal in the 92nd minute of play. Eduardo Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Augusto Pinho in the 93rd minute of the match. Itororo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
