Atacadao's Clóvis Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Fabinho Fantini made a precise shot to the right of Gino de Sena. Curvelo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Dário Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Soeiro in the 20th minute of play. Nando Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clóvis Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. Atacadao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clóvis Mesquita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gino de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho Fantini in the 76th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Clóvis Mesquita made a precise shot to the right of Gino de Sena. Curvelo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. If Clóvis Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fabinho Fantini came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Atacadao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabinho Fantini couldn't finish the play. When Atacadao's Fabinho Fantini in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Curvelo FC's goalie prevented a goal. Fabinho Fantini blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gino de Sena having to make a save.
