Curvelo FC's Gino de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léo Garcia in the 4th minute of play. Juan José López received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gino de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nico Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eduardo Carneiro's late challenge caught a Ipaguacu SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Curvelo FC's Eduardo Carneiro got a free kick in the 17th minute. When Luís Fabiano de Barros fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curvelo FC's protests and gave Luís Fabiano de Barros a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ipaguacu SC booed when Curvelo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gino de Sena made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Juan José López sent off a good shot on target. Juan José López recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Curvelo FC's Gino de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Curvelo FC from getting a goal against them. Gino de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Léo Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Eduardo Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wiliam Fantini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 32nd match minute, Curvelo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Ipaguacu SC made a substitution. Jean Beaupré replaced Virgílio de Queirós. After 33 played minutes Curvelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Loyola. Curvelo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Léo Garcia scored to the left of an out of position Gino de Sena, making the score, 1-1. Curvelo FC's Gino de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Curvelo FC from getting a goal against them. After 44 minutes of play, Ipaguacu SC's Nico Bastos made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gino de Sena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Juan José López could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Gino de Sena made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eduardo Carneiro made a kick off. Gino de Sena came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Ipaguacu SC's Juan José López. But to his dismay, Juan José López quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. A collision led to Ipaguacu SC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Délio Mendes hit a great ball. After 66 played minutes Curvelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Secco. Gino de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léo Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Juan José López sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 76 minutes into the game, Juan José López cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Gino de Sena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80th minute, Juan José López left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ipaguacu SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. If Eduardo Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Léo Garcia notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Curvelo FC's Gino de Sena. Gino de Sena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gino de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léo Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Nando Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Wiliam Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
