He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Polaris F.C 39-xx reached it. Sílvio Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Vivaldo Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polaris F.C 39-xx. Polaris F.C 39-xx's Leandro Koehler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Polaris F.C 39-xx from getting a goal against them. Altaneira FC's Vivaldo Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Saldanha in the 20th minute of play. After 23 played minutes Polaris F.C 39-xx got a freekick which was hit by Rui Carioca. Vivaldo Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Vasconcelos in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Sílvio Vasconcelos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vivaldo Netto. Altaneira FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Vasconcelos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Leandro Koehler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Linares in the 37th minute. Polaris F.C 39-xx's Leandro Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Linares in the 42nd minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselmo Saldanha got free with Vivaldo Netto in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute of the match Pedro Salgado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vivaldo Netto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Vasconcelos in the 84th minute of play forced Altaneira FC's goalkeeper Vivaldo Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
