After a defensive mix-up in Blue Macaws's zone, Isaltino Bastos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel de Andrade came out of the goal and Isaltino Bastos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, Blue Macaws's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Bastos came free, but Ezequiel de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Bastos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ezequiel de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Pernambucano in the 27th minute of play. Ronaldinho Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel de Andrade having to interfere. Isaltino Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel de Andrade having to interfere. Isaltino Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Ronaldinho Pernambucano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ezequiel de Andrade was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Afonsinho Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ronaldinho Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juarês Branco's late challenge caught a Rio Branco Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juarês Branco helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Blue Macaws's Juarês Branco got a free kick in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isaltino Bastos to make the kick off. Adriano Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Isaltino Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62ndth minute of the game Isaltino Bastos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blue Macaws's Ezequiel de Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isaltino Bastos in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ezequiel de Andrade saved Blue Macaws from getting behind. Isaltino Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ezequiel de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guga Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, Rio Branco Sport Club's Isaltino Bastos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ezequiel de Andrade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74th match minute, Blue Macaws was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Pires to maneuver through the defense. Ezequiel de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaltino Bastos in the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Rio Branco Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Guga Vides came free, but João Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute Guga Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ezequiel de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
