Guilherme Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Alvarenga in the 22nd minute of play. Macu SC's Guilherme Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Alvarenga in the 24th minute of play. Hílton Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 29 played minutes Macu SC got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Neto. If Carlos Fernando Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Urutagua getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Zé Oliveira hit a great ball. José Paulo Vinhas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roger Munhoz. Urutagua's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vítor de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 50th minute of the match, but Roger Munhoz made a huge save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 56th minute of the match Macu SC got a corner. Urutagua's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Paulo Vinhas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Edgard Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. When Urutagua's Zé Oliveira in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Macu SC's goalie prevented a goal.
