The audience thought a goal was coming when Sever Şuplăcan got free with Jerônimo Paiva in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 25 minutes, Percy Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the kings of ligth and the Midnight Football Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Midnight Football Team's Jerônimo Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Şuplăcan in the 33rd minute of play. Jerônimo Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Tande in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Sever Şuplăcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, kings of ligth's Romário Mineiro got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Erik Johansson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jerônimo Paiva skillfully saved the ball. Midnight Football Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sever Şuplăcan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jerônimo Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sever Şuplăcan's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 75th minute Percy Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani Mumbach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elder Quintal in the 81st minute of play. In the 87th match minute, kings of ligth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria Ramos to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Sever Şuplăcan made a precise shot to the right of Jerônimo Paiva. Midnight Football Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
