The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaká Amorim got free with Ivo Recife in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kaká Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ivo Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mané Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademar Monteiro in the 10th minute of play. Renato Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Renato Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Ademar Monteiro made a precise shot to the right of Mané Bezerra. Capane's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 45th minute, Goianapolis SC's Glauco Amorim seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Glauco Amorim the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Goianapolis SC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Glauco Amorim had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 47 minutes into the match, Gino Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivo Recife. Goianapolis SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gino Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walmir Toledo made a kick off. Raimundo Gerber's late challenge caught a Goianapolis SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, Capane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Gerber to maneuver through the defense. Capane's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Davi Bueno scored to the left of an out of position Mané Bezerra, making the score, 1-4. With a little luck, Capane's Mané Bezerra got control of the ball when Glauco Travassos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lenílson Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Mané Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lenílson Antunes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Mané Bezerra when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Ademar Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ademar Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Goianapolis SC's Igor Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Davi Bueno fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goianapolis SC's protests and gave Davi Bueno a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Goianapolis SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Capane:s goal. Gino Martins placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Goianapolis SC's Lenílson Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Glauco Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané Bezerra having to interfere. Renato Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Lenílson Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Capane's Mané Bezerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Capane from getting a goal against them. Ademar Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Mané Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Lenílson Antunes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mané Bezerra. The goal made the score 1-5. In the 95th match minute, Goianapolis SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 99th minute Kaká Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Goianapolis SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Capane.
