Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Júnior Mello kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Velejantes's Hílton Abraão got a free kick in the 7th minute. Dadá Ribeiro scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oswaldo Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aílton Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natanael Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Mesquita in the 20th minute of play forced Inveia's goalkeeper Aílton Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Velejantes getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Sydney Figueiredo hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes, Inveia's Inácio Bastos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oswaldo Berger came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inveia reached it. Júnior Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Oswaldo Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciro Leme charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Leme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oswaldo Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Hílton Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Aílton Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manfredo Mesquita to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Velejantes got a corner. Inveia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kléberson Bueno ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Velejantes's Sydney Figueiredo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Natanael Ribeiro took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aílton Velasco. Aílton Velasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 62 minutes, Dadá Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inveia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dadá Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aílton Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfredo Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Natanael Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Aílton Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Manfredo Mesquita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aílton Velasco was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After 73 minutes, Chiquinho Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inveia and the Velejantes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Velejantes's Manfredo Mesquita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aílton Velasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manfredo Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
