Mamata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jefferson Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th match minute, Mamata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Garcia to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute of the match Paulinho Lopez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Augusto Luz skillfully saved the ball. In the 21st minute, Pedro Augusto Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Ramón Castro could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Róbson Silveira however easily saved by the left post. After 23 minutes, Sérgio Paulista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guaira and the Mamata players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sérgio Paulista hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Ramón Castro had several of the Guaira's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Róbson Silveira as he didn't even see the shot coming. Róbson Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson Félix in the 44th minute of the match. Ramón Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Róbson Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leandro Baiano to make the kick off. Mamata walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
