The Maracana SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualter França should have stopped the shot. If Gualter Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. Gualter França didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Schmidt went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 92nd minute, Gualter Senna fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gualter França, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Santos booed when Maracana SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santos's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
