Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nando Félix started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Luís Eduardo de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Antônio Carlos Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dias's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Carlos Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Dias's Narciso Moraes threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luís Eduardo de Alcântara, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Inácio Viana hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando Félix in the 16th minute of play forced Dias's goalkeeper Célio Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Antônio Carlos Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dias's Luís Eduardo de Alcântara in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.R.Vasco da Gama's goalie prevented a goal. If Antônio Carlos Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, C.R.Vasco da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo de Alcântara came free, but Narciso Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narciso Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo de Alcântara in the 24th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nando Félix in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Bittencourt saved Dias from getting behind. C.R.Vasco da Gama's Nando Félix managed to work through Dias's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Nando Félix dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Antônio Carlos Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind C.R.Vasco da Gama's goalkeeper Narciso Moraes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Luís Eduardo de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dias's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Eduardo de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in C.R.Vasco da Gama's zone, Antônio Carlos Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Moraes came out of the goal and Antônio Carlos Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Eduardo de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Narciso Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Marinho struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Narciso Moraes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dias. After a rather tough play, C.R.Vasco da Gama's Cristian Moreno got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 47 minutes C.R.Vasco da Gama's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Deivid Perez who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Dias's Wanderson da Fonseca to fire away a dangerous shot which Narciso Moraes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Eduardo de Alcântara made a kick off. Narciso Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Eduardo de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Luís Eduardo de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo de Alcântara in the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Antônio Carlos Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vinícius Quintal's late challenge caught a Dias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinícius Quintal helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in C.R.Vasco da Gama fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! In the 69th minute there was a penalty for Dias. Deivid Perez stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Narciso Moraes. 1-0. Dias's Célio Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Moreno in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of C.R.Vasco da Gama booed when Dias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luís Eduardo de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Luís Eduardo de Alcântara sped through C.R.Vasco da Gama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Narciso Moraes. After 86 minutes, Luís Eduardo de Alcântara made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. C.R.Vasco da Gama's Narciso Moraes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Narciso Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo de Alcântara in the 95th minute of the match. Antônio Carlos Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dias fully deserved thier win.
