But to his dismay, Erik Vander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fruteira AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Franco Canadiense F.C the free kick. In the 14th minute, Sandrinho Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Erik Vander came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Franco Canadiense F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Vander couldn't finish the play. Sydney Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamim Santana's late challenge caught a Fruteira AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamim Santana helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Franco Canadiense F.C getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Benjamim Santana hit a great ball. Sydney Almeida was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Fruteira AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Luís de Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Ramón Vidal made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Vander in the 40th minute of play forced Fruteira AD's goalkeeper Matías Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ramón Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Franco Canadiense F.C were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sydney Almeida made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Vander in the 53rd minute of play forced Fruteira AD's goalkeeper Matías Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fruteira AD's Matías Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Fruteira AD from getting a goal against them. If Sydney Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matías Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafinha Britto during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Matías Mangueira was a little too slow when Benjamim Santana got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonel Nogueira got free with Matías Mangueira in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Franco Canadiense F.C players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
