The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. TeKo FC's Denílson de Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Elias Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute Remo Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denílson de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Chaves having to interfere. If Denílson de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertinho Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilmar Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, TeKo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Castro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Chelsea F. Gilmar Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 28 played minutes Chelsea F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Coelho. The supporters of Chelsea F. C. booed when TeKo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Albertinho Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 40 in the game by Dinei Baptista from a close distance when the talented Gilmar Chaves managed to make a qualified save. Chelsea F. Gilmar Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertinho Schmidt in the 51st minute of the match. Chelsea F. C.'s Gilmar Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Schmidt in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to TeKo FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Albertinho Schmidt hit a great ball. Denílson de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilmar Chaves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that TeKo FC were the better team. TeKo FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
