Paraguaçuense's Marcelinho dos Santos threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lucas Falcão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Jean Vander fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C. Paraguaçuense's protests and gave Jean Vander a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Abelha EC booed when E.C. Paraguaçuense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. Paraguaçuense's zone, Zé Pedro Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleiton Donato came out of the goal and Zé Pedro Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Pedro Zonta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cleiton Donato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Falcão in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelinho dos Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute Lucas Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Falcão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Zé Pedro Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelha EC's Zé Pedro Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felippe da Silveira in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cleiton Donato saved E.C. Paraguaçuense from getting behind. After 59 minutes of play, Abelha EC's Zé Pedro Zonta made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cleiton Donato was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abelha EC's Marcelinho dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Félix in the 64th minute of play. Abel Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho dos Santos having to interfere. After 73 minutes of play, Abelha EC's Zé Pedro Zonta made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cleiton Donato was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th minute Lucas Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 80 in the game by Zé Pedro Zonta from a close distance when the talented Cleiton Donato managed to make a qualified save. E.C. Paraguaçuense's players were relieved. Zé Pedro Zonta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Cleiton Donato made a huge save. In the 92nd minute, Abel Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lucas Falcão struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Marcelinho dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Paraguaçuense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Abelha EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
