An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Alagoano in the 6th minute of play forced Golo Golo's goalkeeper Frank Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Rafa Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 16 minutes of play, Gabiroba's Oswaldo Quirino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frank Meirelles was left in no man's land by his defense there! João Augusto Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Meirelles having to interfere. Frank Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Quirino in the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, João Augusto Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gabiroba's supporters rose to their feet, but João Augusto Alagoano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Meirelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Augusto Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Meirelles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oswaldo Quirino's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Golo Golo getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Tadeu do Valle hit a great ball. Frank Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Quirino in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44thth minute of the game Oswaldo Quirino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golo Golo's Frank Meirelles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oswaldo Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Frank Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Cido Freire hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If João Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mazinho Araújo's late challenge caught a Golo Golo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazinho Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. Mazinho Araújo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Raimundo Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Oswaldo Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Oswaldo Quirino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Meirelles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Henrique Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Ramos having to interfere. In the 78th minute, João Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henrique Peixoto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto Ramos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. If João Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, João Augusto Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gabiroba's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Augusto Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oswaldo Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Augusto Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Frank Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gabiroba. Frank Meirelles made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when João Augusto Alagoano sent off a good shot on target. The Golo Golo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gabiroba were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
