Spectators: 6675 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1675, VIP seats: 0) Filipe Valladares started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Percy Camargo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Durval Martins went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 7 minutes into the match, Bahia F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Durval Martins came free, but Percy Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy Camargo came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Acarai EC's Durval Martins. But to his dismay, Durval Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 15 minutes into the game, Walmir Leite recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Carlos Brasil. Walmir Leite showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Agenor de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Percy Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Martins in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Pedro Paulo Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Martins in the 30th minute of play forced Bahia F.C's goalkeeper Percy Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percy Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agenor de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Durval Martins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Percy Camargo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Duda Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. João Carlos Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durval Martins made a kick off. In the 60th minute of the match Acarai EC got a corner. Bahia F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Augusto Senna ran over to the corner to take the kick. Carlos Augusto Senna made a great header on Acarai EC's corner, it was just that Bahia F.C's Percy Camargo managed to reach the ball for a save. 62 minutes into the match, Acarai EC's Durval Martins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percy Camargo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Martins in the 63rd minute of play forced Bahia F.C's goalkeeper Percy Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Bahia F.C's goalkeeper Percy Camargo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agenor de Senna. When Agenor de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Acarai EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agenor de Senna couldn't finish the play. After having played for 69 minutes, Durval Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acarai EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durval Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cláudio Arce was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 72 minutes into the match. 74 minutes in the game Oscar Damião got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. A hard shot 76 in the game by Agenor de Senna from a close distance when the talented Percy Camargo managed to make a qualified save. Bahia F.C's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Bahia F.C's Duda Cruz got a free kick in the 76th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Agenor de Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Percy Camargo. Bahia F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agenor de Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. With a little luck, Bahia F.C's Percy Camargo got control of the ball when Durval Martins tried to sneak it across the goal line. Walmir Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. João Carlos Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 played minutes Acarai EC got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Queiroz. João Carlos Brasil came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Bahia F.C's Walmir Leite. But to his dismay, Walmir Leite quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4.
