In the 11th minute, Wágner Arce had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Ademir Mumbach fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Felipão FC's protests and gave Ademir Mumbach a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Felipão FC! Lars Pålsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Sérgio Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Augusto Mandrak in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the 40th minute, Lars Pålsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sergio's Reginaldo Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute Lars Pålsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lars Pålsson made a kick off. Sergio's Manuel Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Mandrak in the 51st minute of play. After 54 minutes of play, Sergio's Reginaldo Pinho made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvério Gaspar was left in no man's land by his defense there! If José Augusto Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Augusto Mandrak in the 60th minute of play. After 60 minutes of play, Felipão FC's José Augusto Mandrak made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sergio's Reginaldo Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Sérgio Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reginaldo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Gaspar having to interfere. Felipão FC's Silvério Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Felipão FC from getting a goal against them. Reginaldo Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Silvério Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sergio booed when Felipão FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Torre didn't get a good kick on the ball.
