Sydney Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vânderson Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Fonseca SS's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Baptista came free, but Sydney Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fonseca SS's Fábio Miranda got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Baptista in the 18th minute of play forced Fonseca SS's goalkeeper Sydney Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Itaicaba SS's Alan Borges pulled a muscle in his leg after 20 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Fonseca SS's André Proença got a free kick in the 20th minute. Vânderson Hermes scored 1-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sydney Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Itaicaba SS's César de Senna got a free kick in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Itaicaba SS's zone, Oséias Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Loureiro came out of the goal and Oséias Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Vânderson Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaicaba SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Vânderson Hermes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sydney Mazza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Fonseca SS's Oséias Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Itaicaba SS getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. César de Senna hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Itaicaba SS's goal looked a bit too open when Oséias Viana came free, but Eriberto Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oséias Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Eriberto Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bebeto Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 79 minutes into the match, Itaicaba SS's goal looked a bit too open when Oséias Viana came free, but Eriberto Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eriberto Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute, Erik Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Célio Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the game, Fonseca SS's Oséias Viana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eriberto Loureiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
