Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Chiquinho Alcântara took the kick off in the first half of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Buenopolis's Claudinho Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agnaldo Ramalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Basílio Aparecido made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Adriano Sabóia sent off a good shot on target. When Cássio Sena fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buenopolis's protests and gave Cássio Sena a yellow card for diving instead. Adriano Sabóia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Basílio Aparecido skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Adriano Sabóia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Basílio Aparecido made a huge save. Germano Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Aparecido having to interfere. If Adriano Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Tomás Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Coritiba FC's Manolo Costa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Basílio Aparecido. Basílio Aparecido yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. When Adriano Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Coritiba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Sabóia couldn't finish the play. Agnaldo Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Castro in the 40th minute of play. Vitório Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitório Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 41 played minutes Coritiba FC got a freekick which was hit by Vitório Carvalho. In the 42nd minute of the match Nuno de Lima sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Agnaldo Ramalho skillfully saved the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adriano Sabóia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adriano Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Aparecido having to interfere. A collision led to Buenopolis getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Afonso Gonçalves hit a great ball. Basílio Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 62 minutes of play, Coritiba FC's Adriano Sabóia made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basílio Aparecido was left in no man's land by his defense there! Germano Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Luís Guilherme Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Basílio Aparecido was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. After having played for 75 minutes, Adriano Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coritiba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Sabóia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adriano Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateus Maia in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basílio Aparecido saved Buenopolis from getting behind. After 82 minutes, Afonso Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buenopolis and the Coritiba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Buenopolis's Afonso Gonçalves got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Manolo Costa notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Buenopolis's Basílio Aparecido. Basílio Aparecido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cássio Sena hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. A collision led to Coritiba FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Germano Motta hit a great ball. When the referee ended the match the Coritiba FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
