Spectators: 7251 (Terracing: 5440, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) 3 minutes into the match, Itambe EC's goalkeeper Baltazar Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Sabóia. 6 minutes into the match, Germano Motta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baltazar Santana. Itambe EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Germano Motta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 8 played minutes Coritiba FC got a freekick which was hit by Germano Motta. Coritiba FC's Adriano Sabóia got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Itambe EC defense, Germano Motta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baltazar Santana. The Itambe EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baltazar Santana should have stopped the shot. Itambe EC's Baltazar Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Sabóia in the 19th minute of play. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Adriano Sabóia sped through Itambe EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Baltazar Santana. Mateus Tasso took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agnaldo Ramalho. Agnaldo Ramalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Mateus Maia struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Baltazar Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba FC. Adriano Sabóia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltazar Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Germano Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manolo Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Baltazar Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adriano Sabóia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Baltazar Santana skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Germano Motta came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Coritiba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Germano Motta couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Itambe EC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Sabóia came free, but Baltazar Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Itambe EC's Baltazar Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Motta in the 41st minute of play. If Manolo Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mateus Tasso to make the kick off. Manolo Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Baltazar Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Guilherme Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 56th of the match, Mateus Tasso tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Agnaldo Ramalho got in the way and made a wonderful save. Manolo Costa scored 6-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baltazar Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Felippe Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 70 played minutes Coritiba FC got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Vergílio. The audience was convinced that Adriano Sabóia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltazar Santana was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. 75 minutes into the game, Adriano Sabóia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Baltazar Santana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 78 played minutes Itambe EC got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Porto. Coritiba FC's Adriano Sabóia has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute, Adriano Sabóia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baltazar Santana was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. Baltazar Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Sabóia in the 87th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Itambe EC's zone, Deivid Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Santana came out of the goal and Deivid Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 minutes, Felippe Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itambe EC and the Coritiba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felippe Garcia hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Adriano Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Itambe EC's zone, Manolo Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Santana came out of the goal and Manolo Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adriano Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Santana having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Coritiba FC fully deserved thier win.
