Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, SPAYKAO FC's Roberto Damião got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Germano de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nando Quadros having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erivaldo Ribeiro during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SPAYKAO FC booed when Maraial AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SPAYKAO FC's zone, Thiago Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Moes came out of the goal and Thiago Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SPAYKAO FC's Laur Taelma got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Despite being the better team, SPAYKAO FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
