Spectators: 6673 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jarbas Moura made the kick off which started today's match. Atlético Audax-AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giuseppe Leal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão de Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Atlético Audax-AC's Elano Madureira got control of the ball when Bernardo Cordeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 36th minute of the match José Maria Gomes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave José Maria Gomes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 37th match minute, Atlético Audax-AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria Gomes to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elano Madureira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romeu Leme made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Atlético Audax-AC's Renatinho Arce got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Giuseppe Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simão de Andrade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giuseppe Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. If Romeu Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeu Leme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Peixoto couldn't finish the play.
