In the 10th minute, one of Jericoacoara EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jericoacoara EC. Jericoacoara EC's attentive Horácio Bueno managed to snatch the ball when Wilian Marinho made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. Horácio Bueno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elivélton Faustino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Gilmar Prado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Veloso in the 25th minute of play forced Esperança SC's goalkeeper Fábio Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilian Marinho made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Jericoacoara EC's Horácio Bueno. Fábio Toscano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilmar Prado in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chico Reis in the 31st minute of play forced Jericoacoara EC's goalkeeper Edmílson Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kléber Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Gilmar Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jericoacoara EC's Edmílson Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico Reis in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Jericoacoara EC's zone, Chico Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmílson Linhares came out of the goal and Chico Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmílson Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half Esperança SC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gilmar Prado made the kick off in the second half. Gilmar Prado struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Fábio Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jericoacoara EC. The Jericoacoara EC fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Jericoacoara EC's Gilmar Prado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sidney Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th play minute Chico Reis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Edmílson Linhares. 1-2. 69 minutes into the game, Chico Reis lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Edmílson Linhares. Chico Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Edmílson Linhares made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Chico Reis took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Edmílson Linhares to make any attempt to save it. Chico Reis's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edmílson Linhares firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 79th minute, Gilmar Prado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jericoacoara EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Jericoacoara EC's Gilmar Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Esperança SC's Rui Araújo got a free kick in the 87th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kléber Bezerra got free with Edmílson Linhares in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Esperança SC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
