Aloísio Vaz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 10th minute, Délio Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurinho Aguiar in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Délio Gonçalves saved Araguacema from getting behind. After having played for 15 minutes, Maurinho Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romeu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurinho Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serginho Alagoano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aloísio Vaz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Maurinho Aguiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Délio Gonçalves was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Lucas Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio Gonçalves having to interfere. After some careless play in the Araguacema defense, Maurinho Aguiar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Délio Gonçalves. The Araguacema fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Délio Gonçalves should have stopped the shot. Délio Gonçalves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurinho Aguiar's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Maurinho Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cafu da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Romeu's Sydney Paraibano got a free kick in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, Araguacema's Délio Bertassi got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Aloísio Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 62nd minute Cafu da Mata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aloísio Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Alagoano in the 63rd minute of the match. Délio Gonçalves made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Maurinho Aguiar sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Maurinho Aguiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Délio Gonçalves was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurinho Aguiar in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Délio Gonçalves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sydney Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeu's Aloísio Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Vander in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the match Rafael Arósio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Délio Gonçalves skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Maurinho Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romeu's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurinho Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Délio Gonçalves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
