Silvinho Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvinho Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho Moreno having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Veloso got free with João Augusto Abraão in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 played minutes, Vasco da gama's Luan Vasconcelos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adrianinho Moreno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vasco da gama reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaká Leão in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Augusto Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. João Augusto Abraão came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bonsucesso's André Veloso. But to his dismay, André Veloso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 30th minute, André Veloso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bonsucesso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Vasco da gama's zone, André Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Abraão came out of the goal and André Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Augusto Abraão made an important save on a dangerous shot by André Veloso in the 41st minute. Adrianinho Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Abreu in the 44th minute of the match. Silvinho Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Adrianinho Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cláudio Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Cláudio Abreu made the kick off in the second half. Bonsucesso's Adrianinho Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Abreu in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bonsucesso's zone, Silvinho Vasconcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho Moreno came out of the goal and Silvinho Vasconcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jefferson Leal hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, André Veloso notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Vasco da gama's João Augusto Abraão. João Augusto Abraão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silvinho Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrianinho Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvinho Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jefferson Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Fred Donatello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vasco da gama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bonsucesso the free kick. A collision led to Vasco da gama getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Fred Donatello hit a great ball. In the 84th minute Bonsucesso were awarded a corner. Bernardo Antunes went to the cornerflag to take it. André Veloso took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Augusto Abraão. João Augusto Abraão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Leão in the 97th minute of play forced Vasco da gama's goalkeeper João Augusto Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vasco da gama players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bonsucesso.
