Spectators: 7274 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 144) Pixe EC's Dávid Kelemen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pixe EC were furious when Júlio Veiga was red carded, 4 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luan Vasconcelos in the 5th minute of play forced Pixe EC's goalkeeper Sixto Min to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sílvio Luiz de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Abreu in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sixto Min saved Pixe EC from getting behind. In the 22nd minute Vasco da gama were awarded a corner. Luan Vasconcelos went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Vasco da gama's Luan Vasconcelos to fire away a dangerous shot which Sixto Min despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Váldson Vasconcelos's late challenge caught a Pixe EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Váldson Vasconcelos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Váldson Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulinho Souza during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 25 minutes of play, Vasco da gama's Silvinho Vasconcelos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sixto Min was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Vasco da gama's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Paulinho Souza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Sílvio Luiz de Sousa put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of João Augusto Abraão. After a defensive mix-up in Vasco da gama's zone, Tomás Bezerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Abraão came out of the goal and Tomás Bezerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sílvio Luiz de Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Augusto Abraão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. If Tomás Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Augusto Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Bezerra in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Váldson Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 minutes, João Paulo Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pixe EC and the Vasco da gama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 44 played minutes Pixe EC got a freekick which was hit by João Paulo Vargas. Sixto Min stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvinho Vasconcelos's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luiz de Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Augusto Abraão. Vasco da gama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Luiz de Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvinho Vasconcelos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luiz de Sousa notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Vasco da gama's João Augusto Abraão. João Augusto Abraão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Vasco da gama defense, Sílvio Luiz de Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Augusto Abraão. The Vasco da gama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Augusto Abraão should have stopped the shot. In the 65th minute Carlos Augusto Prestes suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 65 minutes, Mateus Batista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vasco da gama and the Pixe EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Augusto Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luiz de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 71 minutes, Tomás Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pixe EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Bezerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulinho Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Augusto Abraão having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Tomás Bezerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pixe EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Vasco da gama's João Augusto Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz de Sousa in the 79th minute of play. When Paulinho Souza came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Pixe EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulinho Souza couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Silvinho Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomás Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Sílvio Luiz de Sousa put it in 6-1 from a short distance just to the right of João Augusto Abraão. Pixe EC's Paulinho Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pixe EC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
