Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alex Vander started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Enio Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canaan's supporters rose to their feet, but Enio Rosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinei Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Canaan getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Ulysses Bezerra hit a great ball. The supporters of Canaan booed when Ternura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vivaldo da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lauro Guimarães was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Lauro Guimarães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Enio Rosa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ternura's Claudinei Monteiro. Claudinei Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 29 played minutes Ternura got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Fernandez. After 30 played minutes, Canaan's Ulysses Bezerra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudinei Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Canaan reached it. Vivaldo da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Queirós having to interfere. Enio Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Claudinei Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro Guimarães got free with Valdir Queirós in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enio Rosa in the 39th minute of play forced Ternura's goalkeeper Claudinei Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Lauro Guimarães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Enio Rosa made the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Ternura's goalkeeper Claudinei Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enio Rosa. Ternura's Vivaldo da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Walmyr Marquez fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canaan's protests and gave Walmyr Marquez a yellow card for diving instead. Walmyr Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Evandro Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enio Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Canaan's Valdir Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Vander in the 75th minute of play. Jarbas Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chico Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinei Monteiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Walmir Ramos. Vivaldo da Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vivaldo da Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 84 minutes into the game, one of Ternura:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Walmir Ramos shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After some careless play in the Ternura defense, Enio Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Monteiro. The Ternura fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Monteiro should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Lauro Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdir Queirós was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lauro Guimarães in the 92nd minute of play forced Canaan's goalkeeper Valdir Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdir Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emílio Pimenta hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Canaan eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
