Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Serrania's Almir Messias started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Matauna SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Almir Messias scored to the left of an out of position Gilberto Falcão, making the score, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Almir Messias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Falcão was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 7th match minute, Matauna SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Tasso to maneuver through the defense. If Elias Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 16 minutes into the match, Serrania's Elias Cavalcante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Falcão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilberto Falcão made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Elias Cavalcante sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd match minute, Matauna SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léo Gerber to maneuver through the defense. In the 26thth minute of the game Almir Messias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matauna SS's Gilberto Falcão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elias Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gilberto Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Alfredinho Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serrania's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Moura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Almir Messias in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Falcão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Almir Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Elias Cavalcante left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Serrania fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Elias Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Elias Cavalcante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elias Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Elias Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serrania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias Cavalcante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Tasso struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Olívio Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matauna SS. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Elias Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serrania's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the match, Matauna SS's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Cavalcante came free, but Gilberto Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Falcão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Almir Messias's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Afonsinho Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Serrania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matauna SS the free kick. The supporters of Matauna SS booed when Serrania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Artur Corrêa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olívio Antunes skillfully saved the ball. Elias Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elias Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Falcão having to interfere. Gilberto Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Messias in the 96th minute of the match.
