After 43 minutes, Custódio Penha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the força jovem sp and the Quatiguaua players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute Rubens Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lauro de Queirós to make the kick off. If Váldson de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. Rubens Rosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durvalino Mineiro having to make a save. Zé Paulo Magalhães's late challenge caught a força jovem sp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Paulo Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Paulo Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Lauro de Queirós took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarbas Vander. Jarbas Vander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. força jovem sp had won after a very even match.
