With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cafu Meira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42ndth minute of the game Dedê Matorin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sume's Cafu Meira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cafu Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Júlio Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Tinoco having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Mário Vianna struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Hortêncio Tinoco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sume. Hortêncio Tinoco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Vianna's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Christiano Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
