After a defensive mix-up in Matai's zone, Mário Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredão Brodel came out of the goal and Mário Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cafu Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léo Cabral in the 23rd minute of the match. Léo Cabral struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Cafu Meira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matai. Severino Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredão Brodel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Vianna's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After the first half Sume were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Léo Cabral made a kick off. Cafu Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léo Cabral in the 52nd minute of the match. The Sume fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Sume's Severino Rezende looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Rezende in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredão Brodel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Matai's Alfredão Brodel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Matai from getting a goal against them. Sume played a much better game than Matai and deserved their victory. The Matai players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
