Vitório Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Cordeiro in the 5th minute of the match. Breno Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Tasso having to interfere. Vasco's Vitório Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Cordeiro in the 11th minute of play. Vitório Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Cordeiro in the 13th minute of play. Corrupção's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Breno Tavares scored to the left of an out of position Patrick Tasso, making the score, 1-0. Vitório Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Rocha in the 20th minute of the match. Felipe Cordeiro took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitório Sabóia. Vitório Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Vasco's Vitório Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Cordeiro in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Vasco defense, Lauro da Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vitório Sabóia. The Vasco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vitório Sabóia should have stopped the shot. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vasco! Vitório Sabóia went to the wrong direction when Lauro da Silveira was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 36th minute, Felipe Cordeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitório Sabóia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Vitório Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vitório Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Felipe Cordeiro made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Vasco's Alexsandro Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrick Tasso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Corrupção's Lauro da Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Vânderson Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kalevi Laatikainen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitório Sabóia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Breno Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 62 minutes, Breno Tavares made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Corrupção's Patrick Tasso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Lauro da Silveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vitório Sabóia. Vasco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lauro da Silveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Vitório Sabóia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lauro da Silveira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 74 minute of play. In the 81st minute, Joaquim Rocha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vitório Sabóia. The goal made the score 2-6. In the 87th minute, Breno Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Vasco fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Corrupção were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
