Fresno de Pelotas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dito Paraíba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Dito Paraíba took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duarte Monteiro. Duarte Monteiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The supporters of Bacury SS booed when Fresno de Pelotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Dito Paraíba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bacury SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Paulo Renato Zonta sped through Fresno de Pelotas FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Duarte Monteiro. With a little luck, Bacury SS's Ciro França got control of the ball when Haroldo Ignado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ciro França made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Haroldo Ignado sent off a good shot on target. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dito Paraíba was the one to do the kick off. Ciro França made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-7. Fresno de Pelotas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Ignado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute Dito Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Bacury SS's Dito Paraíba slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Duarte Monteiro. That made the score 2-9 after 85 minutes of play. Dito Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Monteiro having to interfere. Haroldo Ignado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Ciro França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Fresno de Pelotas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Paraíba came free, but Duarte Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duarte Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Bacury SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bacury SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
