After a rather tough play, Itapiciru EC's Baltazar de Salles got a free kick in the 14th minute. Reginaldo Prestes hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After 17 played minutes, Red Bull Pelotas-RS's Jaakkima Paška shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Válbson Rossi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Red Bull Pelotas-RS reached it. After a rather tough play, Itapiciru EC's André Luiz Reis got a free kick in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Dracena notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Itapiciru EC's Válbson Rossi. Válbson Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Luiz Reis got free with Darin Gregory in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. André Luiz Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Darin Gregory tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 78th minute, Red Bull Pelotas-RS's Válter Marques seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Válter Marques the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Red Bull Pelotas-RS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Válter Marques had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 80th minute there was a penalty for Itapiciru EC. Dino Veiga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Darin Gregory. 2-1. A collision led to Itapiciru EC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Baltazar de Salles hit a great ball. A hard shot by Jaakkima Paška from long distance, 88 minutes into the match, got Válbson Rossi's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 94 minutes, Dorian Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapiciru EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorian Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Itapiciru EC were victorious despite being under pressure from Red Bull Pelotas-RS for much of the match.
