Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Oscar Penha kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd match minute, Miritituba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Zanette to maneuver through the defense. Varginha F.C.'s Oscar Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 5th minute, Miritituba AD's Murillo de Brito ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bebeto de Queirós. Bebeto de Queirós yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 9th minute Noel Hames shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Varginha F.C.'s Bebeto de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murillo de Brito in the 16th minute of play. Tomé Braga took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dedê Veloso. Dedê Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 37 minutes into the match, Miritituba AD's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé Braga came free, but Dedê Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Miritituba AD's César Cosme seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed César Cosme the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Miritituba AD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and César Cosme had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Miritituba AD's César Cosme got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The audience held their breath when Tomé Braga in the 44th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Dedê Veloso's left hand side. The supporters of Varginha F.C. booed when Miritituba AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fellipe Pernambucano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Varginha F.C.'s Tomé Braga got a free kick in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the game, Miritituba AD's Fellipe Pernambucano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bebeto de Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 58th match minute, Miritituba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Zanette to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Rodrigues in the 60th minute of play forced Miritituba AD's goalkeeper Dedê Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Miritituba AD's goalkeeper Dedê Veloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dedê Veloso was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Noel Hames capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Noel Hames really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. 66 minutes into the match, Miritituba AD's Fellipe Pernambucano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bebeto de Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Miritituba AD getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Kaká Zanette hit a great ball. Dedê Veloso made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Tomé Braga sent off a good shot on target. If Fellipe Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rdth minute of the game Fellipe Pernambucano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varginha F.C.'s Bebeto de Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Fellipe Pernambucano notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Varginha F.C.'s Bebeto de Queirós. Bebeto de Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dedê Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Penha in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Varginha F.C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
