After a rather tough play, Mamede's Ezequiel Penha got a free kick in the 2nd minute. José Paulo Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cesinha Motta's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. José Paulo Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesinha Motta in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th of the match, Cesinha Motta tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but José Paulo Abreu got in the way and made a wonderful save. After a rather tough play, Mamede's Donatello Ramalho got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Meditacao EC's Cesinha Motta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Paulo Abreu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Severino Pirani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meditacao EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jairo da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. José Paulo Abreu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meditacao EC. After having played for 29 minutes, Severino Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meditacao EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Pirani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Percival Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Falcão Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Zé Augusto Camargo's late challenge caught a Mamede's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Augusto Camargo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Meditacao EC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Zé Augusto Camargo hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Mamede's Igor Messias broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Meditacao EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mamede:s goal. Igor Messias shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percival Alcântara to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Mamede got a corner. Meditacao EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Igor Messias ran over to the corner to take the kick. Horácio de Amaral was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 59 minutes into the match, Mamede's goal looked a bit too open when Cesinha Motta came free, but José Paulo Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Falcão Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Alcântara in the 63rd minute of play. After 72 played minutes Meditacao EC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo da Cunha. Cesinha Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. José Paulo Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Meditacao EC booed when Mamede was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Paulo Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, João Adolfo Meira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mamede's José Paulo Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesinha Motta in the 87th minute of play. If Severino Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Pirani took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Paulo Abreu. José Paulo Abreu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 97th minute, Cesinha Motta made a precise shot to the right of José Paulo Abreu. Mamede's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Meditacao EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
