Portuguesa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bacatu FC the free kick. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Délio Mangueira hit a great ball. Portuguesa were furious when Noel Sabóia was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 27 minutes into the game, one of Portuguesa:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Bernardo Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When Baltazar Veiga fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bacatu FC's protests and gave Baltazar Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Portuguesa's zone, Bernardo Paraibano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Ortiz came out of the goal and Bernardo Paraibano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Bacatu FC's Baltazar Veiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélder Ortiz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 85 minutes into the game, Bacatu FC's Bernardo Paraibano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hélder Ortiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Bernardo Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Bacatu FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Portuguesa.
