Elder Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubinho Motta in the 4th minute of play forced Duarte Sport Club's goalkeeper Elder Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Duarte Sport Club defense, Rubinho Motta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elder Catarinense. The Duarte Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elder Catarinense should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Cangica's Hermínio Zanette got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Noel Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elder Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Elder Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Dantas in the 15th minute of play. After 17 minutes, Vitinho dos Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Duarte Sport Club and the Cangica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cangica's Patrício Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Cangica from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Cangica's Patrício Trigo got control of the ball when Noel Félix tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elder Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Carlos Dantas in the 26th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes Cangica got a freekick which was hit by Chico Xavier. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Dantas in the 29th minute of play forced Duarte Sport Club's goalkeeper Elder Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Duarte Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. Rubinho Motta took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elder Catarinense. Elder Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Duarte Sport Club's Elder Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Carvalho in the 42nd minute of play. Gugu Carvalho took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elder Catarinense. Elder Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antônio Carlos Dantas to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Antônio Carlos Dantas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elder Catarinense. That made the score 1-4 in the 57 minute of play. Patrício Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After 63 minutes of play, Duarte Sport Club's Ezequiel Recife made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrício Trigo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermínio Zanette got free with Elder Catarinense in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elder Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Rubinho Motta sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the match, Hermínio Zanette dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elder Catarinense, 2-6. Duarte Sport Club's Elder Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Dantas in the 82nd minute of play. Rubinho Motta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Elder Catarinense made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubinho Motta got free with Elder Catarinense in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 89th minute Antônio Carlos Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elder Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elder Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Duarte Sport Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cangica were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
