Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Antônio Carlos Dantas started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Pedro Luís Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Janauba SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cangica the free kick. In the 3rd minute, Pedro Luís Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Hermínio Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cangica's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermínio Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Paulo Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antônio Carlos Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Zé Paulo Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Janauba SS's Zé Paulo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Zanette in the 8th minute of play. Antônio Carlos Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Zé Paulo Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Hermínio Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Sampaio might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrício Trigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breno Sampaio ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the match, Cangica's goal looked a bit too open when Breno Sampaio came free, but Patrício Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Carvalho during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gugu Carvalho hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Jano Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Patrício Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25thth minute of the game Antônio Carlos Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Janauba SS's Zé Paulo Gerber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Cangica's Rubinho Motta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Paulo Gerber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Janauba SS's Zé Paulo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Carvalho in the 29th minute of play. If Antônio Carlos Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Janauba SS's Breno Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Antônio Carlos Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Janauba SS's Zé Paulo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Carvalho in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wesley Custódio made a kick off. Patrício Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesley Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Janauba SS's Zé Paulo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Dantas in the 58th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wesley Custódio during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 64 minutes into the match, Rubinho Motta notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Janauba SS's Zé Paulo Gerber. Zé Paulo Gerber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Zanette in the 69th minute of play forced Janauba SS's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
