Elivélton Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Adolfo Porto in the 4th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Durvalino Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camara SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Nóbrega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geraldo Arantes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the match, Camara SS's goalkeeper Elivélton Valadares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Álvaro Eger. Camara SS's Elivélton Valadares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Camara SS from getting a goal against them. Durvalino Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Guajuru booed when Camara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Custódio Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvaldo Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Camara SS's Elivélton Valadares got control of the ball when Álvaro Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Álvaro Eger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Elivélton Valadares made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Guajuru's João Adolfo Porto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Anísio Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elivélton Valadares having to make a save. Álvaro Eger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Elivélton Valadares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Adolfo Porto in the 37th minute of play forced Camara SS's goalkeeper Elivélton Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Camara SS booed when Guajuru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anísio Pires was the one to do the kick off. With 52 minutes on the clock, Didi Fernandez commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Camara SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! When João Adolfo Porto fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guajuru's protests and gave João Adolfo Porto a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes Guajuru got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo Porto. Elivélton Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Adolfo Porto in the 66th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Camara SS got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Mello. Álvaro Eger hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Elivélton Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When João Adolfo Porto came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Guajuru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Porto couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Camara SS getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Angelo da Costa hit a great ball. After 93 played minutes Guajuru got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo Porto. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Guajuru had won after a very even match.
