The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Paraense during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilvan Medeiros to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Sarandy got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Fonseca. With his leg Hugo Medeiros managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Coritiba Blazers FC's Stavros Dermitzoglou fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stavros Dermitzoglou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Hugo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 61st minute by Marcelo Phelipe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sidnei Carioca hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Hugo Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Stavros Dermitzoglou sent off a good shot on target. Egídio Paraense hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Coritiba Blazers FC played a much better game than Sarandy and deserved their victory. The Sarandy players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
