In the 10th minute, Garrotes EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tommy Falkrantz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Garrotes EC's Flavinho Toscano got a free kick in the 10th minute. Cauã Campidelis made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Cristiano Fenomeno sent off a good shot on target. Zbyszek Rakoski struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Flavinho Toscano charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavinho Toscano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Garrotes EC got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Toscano. Tommy Falkrantz, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 43rd minute, Christian Urbano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Tommy Falkrantz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SANTOS FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristiano Fenomeno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Garrotes EC's goalkeeper Cauã Campidelis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristiano Fenomeno in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cauã Campidelis saved Garrotes EC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Cristiano Fenomeno put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cauã Campidelis. Cauã Campidelis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Falkrantz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Zbyszek Rakoski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cauã Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Garrotes EC booed when SANTOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademir Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Cristiano Fenomeno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SANTOS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Fenomeno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Falkrantz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauã Campidelis having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristiano Fenomeno in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cauã Campidelis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SANTOS FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
