The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcinho Dionísio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Sena in the 9th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Luís Guilherme Rezende made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cochichola's Marcinho Dionísio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute, Cabecudas SC's Ivo Galvão seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ivo Galvão the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cabecudas SC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ivo Galvão had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 26 minutes into the match, Jonathan Hermes notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Cabecudas SC's Vitório Mota. Vitório Mota was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcinho Dionísio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igor Sena went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Sena in the 35th minute of play forced Cochichola's goalkeeper Marcinho Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcinho Dionísio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igor Sena went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sidnei Favoretto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andrézinho Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Marcinho Dionísio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Cochichola's goalkeeper Marcinho Dionísio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Augusto Vidal. After having played for 59 minutes, Jarbas Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabecudas SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarbas Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remo Netto charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remo Netto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cabecudas SC booed when Cochichola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remo Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Cabecudas SC's Igor Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcinho Dionísio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Andrézinho Prado came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Cabecudas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho Prado couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Cochichola defense, Igor Sena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcinho Dionísio. The Cochichola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcinho Dionísio should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Andrézinho Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cabecudas SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrézinho Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcinho Dionísio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Igor Sena came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcinho Dionísio could save by the left post. If Andrézinho Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Prado struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Marcinho Dionísio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabecudas SC. When the final whistle sounded Cabecudas SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cochichola.
