The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, 7k FC's goal looked a bit too open when Remo Netto came free, but Jano Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jano Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidnei Favoretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 12 minutes, Ronaldo Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 7k FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldo Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Hermes in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jano Salles saved 7k FC from getting behind. If Pedro Luiz Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dudu Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 7k FC's Jano Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Hermes in the 30th minute of play. Marcinho Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Meireles in the 34th minute of play. Arlindo Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Cochichola were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes 7k FC got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Carneiro. Marcinho Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiori Ferraz in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Jonathan Hermes notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of 7k FC's Jano Salles. Jano Salles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of 7k FC booed when Cochichola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the game, 7k FC's Fiori Ferraz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 81st minute, 7k FC's Pedro Luiz Meireles seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pedro Luiz Meireles the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of 7k FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pedro Luiz Meireles had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Cochichola's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
