When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Enrique da Cunha sped through Cocal FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcelinho Terra. Roger Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marcelinho Terra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raptors's supporters rose to their feet, but Túlio de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelinho Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enrique da Cunha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Marcelinho Terra when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Valdemar Carioca charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdemar Carioca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valdemar Carioca hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. If Roger Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Vágner Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 34 minutes, Adelino de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Raptors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adelino de Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Roger Mangueira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Enrique da Cunhas short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Marcelinho Terra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Túlio de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Marcelinho Terra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moisés Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Cocal FC's zone, Túlio de Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelinho Terra came out of the goal and Túlio de Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 56 minutes into the game, Cocal FC's Moisés Brodel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cássio Vander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Roger Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raptors's Donato Vander pulled a muscle in his leg after 64 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 64 minutes, Eugênio Zanette mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cocal FC and the Raptors players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Cocal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Zanette to maneuver through the defense. Rony Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Cocal FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Valdemar Carioca hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Roger Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Raptors's supporters rose to their feet, but Roger Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelinho Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Túlio de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the game, Roger Mangueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Raptors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cocal FC the free kick. The supporters of Cocal FC booed when Raptors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelinho Terra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Eugênio Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raptors were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Cocal FC to leave the ground with a draw.
