With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan Romero in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg César Marinho saved Chapéu de Palha from getting behind. César Marinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Durval Teles went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Maicon Camargo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Sandrinho Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 11 minutes, Zézinho Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapéu de Palha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zézinho Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zézinho Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho Catarinense having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Zézinho Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of renaux booed when Chapéu de Palha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maicon Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Zézinho Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho Catarinense having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Allan Romero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. César Marinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd match minute, Chapéu de Palha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Allan Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. César Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Chapéu de Palha's Eriberto Paraibano got a free kick in the 36th minute. César Marinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Allan Romero's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that Allan Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but César Marinho was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The Chapéu de Palha players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. renaux were winning 0-2.

In the 52nd minute of the game, Durval Teles landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardinho Torres during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. renaux's César de Andrade was substituted for Durval Teles. In the 54th match minute, Chapéu de Palha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Torres to maneuver through the defense. Sandrinho Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jânio Aparecido in the 78th minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Maicon Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapéu de Palha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maicon Camargo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 84 in the game by Allan Romero from a close distance when the talented César Marinho managed to make a qualified save. Chapéu de Palha's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Romero got free with César Marinho in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90th minute, Ricardinho Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chapéu de Palha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched renaux eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
